Gareth Bale: Return on Investment

Return on investment is always easier to teach than to execute in practice. Gareth Bale went to Real Madrid for a record transfer fee of $120million. Injury meant a slow start, but it seems that his quality began to show through the season.

Now he has finished the season scoring winning goals, both in the Spanish Cup and the European Champions League. It's an amazing goal against Barcelona, because of its pace, its determination and because its against Barcelona in a Cup Final.

Real Madrid seems to be getting what it wanted on the pitch. I guess their financial results will show whether it was worth it, since I think that can only be answered at the team level.
