Stubborn Inflation Expectations

Sticky buns are delicious, and also getting more expensive.

In their latest survey, the NY Fed's SCE indicated that "Median one- and three-year-ahead inflation expectations increased to 5.9 percent and 3.1 percent from 5.4 percent and 2.9 percent, respectively."

With one-year-ahead expectations for rent, food, medical care and college education all 8-10%

This indicates that the breadth of inflation and overall expectations remain elevated, concurring with The Economist saying "it seems more likely that inflation will prove stubborn even as the economy slows".
